photography: wildlife
I spend a lot of time watching, exploring and walking in woodland, in forests, along coast, across moorland and amongst mountains - and am drawn to the wildlife to be found there. I'm especially drawn to photographing creatures in their wider environment.
I'm drawn to the landscape and wildlife of the UK and never tire of the rich diversity to be found here. I spend time in Scandinavia also (both exploring wild areas and working with schools) and the forests there really inspire me (the images below of brown bears were taken in the vast forests of Finland close to the Russian border). I also am endlessly fascinated by the wildlife in my own garden in Derbyshire and the everyday encounters with nature this provides.
